Mexico an attractive choice for manufacturing medical devices
Mexico is the fifth largest exporter of medical devices globally and a distinguished exporter for the US. The country has advantages in terms of geographical proximity to the US and lower manufacturing costs (the manufacturing costs are 20% lower than other leading manufacturing nations). Baja California is the most developed state with a density of 67 medical device manufacturers. Since the financial norms essentially emphasize cost reduction measures for the suppliers to OEMs in the medical device industry, Mexico is emerging as a striking choice for mid-sized private medical device companies.
