GHI is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes how GHI may collect, use, share, and keep information about you and what choices you have. This Policy applies to most of GHI’s public-facing websites and other online offerings (collectively, the “Website”), and will be available by link on all sites and offerings which it covers. Other GHI websites, apps, or online offerings may collect and use data about you in a different way and thus publish a different privacy policy. You should review the applicable privacy policy available with respect to such other items.

GHI reevaluates this Policy on an ongoing basis and reserves the right to change its Policy at any time in its sole discretion. All changes to the terms of this Policy shall be effective as of the date on which they are posted on the Website.

Your use of the Website or offerings covered by this Policy constitutes your consent to the practices described herein.

GHI collects information and data about you and, if applicable, your companies in a continuous effort to improve your experience and to communicate with you about its products, services, and promotions. GHI may collect such information as your name, e-mail and postal addresses, credit card numbers, and other personally identifying information that you provide to GHI (hereinafter, collectively “Information”) when you: (i) place an order (whether individually or through auto register); (ii) register or sign up on the Website; (iii) register or subscribe for publications, subscriptions, e-mails, newsletters, memberships, RSS Feeds, webcasts, whitepapers, online seminars, conferences, and other communications with GHI; (iv) participate in a promotion, survey, or other event launched from the Website; or (v) otherwise save your information with GHI. GHI may, from time to time, append data from other sources to supplement the Information you provide to enhance the information GHI provides to you.

You can update or delete your personal information on the Website by sending an e-mail to info [at] globalhealthintelligence [dot] com, or by calling +1 (305) 441-9300.  If you wish to make any such changes or deletions, you should be sure to include your e-mail address, full name, and password, if applicable.

GHI may use the Information collected on or from the Website to process and fulfill your orders. GHI may also collect e-mail addresses at various locations within the Website, including at such time when you order from or register on the Website, in order to send you any necessary e-mail messages related to your orders, such as an order confirmation notice. GHI may also maintain a record of your product interests, purchases, and whatever else might enable GHI to enhance and personalize your experience with GHI.

GHI may gather date, time, information about a user’s browser and system or device configuration and capabilities, navigation history, and IP address for all visitors to the Website to monitor and track Website use and traffic patterns in order to provide a more personalized experience on the Website. GHI may use this information for its internal security audit log, for trend analysis and system administration, and to gather broad information about its audiences. However, GHI does not routinely link IP addresses to anything that identifies you as an individual.

GHI may also use cookies and other commonly used data collection technologies on the Website and in its newsletters and e-mails to collect information on both an aggregate and individual basis.

Please refer to our information on cookies which sets forth in more detail how GHI uses cookies that identify you, which third party advertisers and advertising networks GHI allows to serve third party cookies, and how to control cookies or their use for targeted advertising or marketing.

Security

GHI uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information. Because of the constitution of the Internet, however, the rules of data protection and the security measures mentioned above may not be observed by other persons or institutions beyond GHI’s control. Especially unencrypted data – even if sent via e-mail – can be read by third parties. GHI has no technical influence to avoid this. You have the responsibility to protect the information you provide, especially user name and passwords, from misuse, whether by encryption or other means.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored by the browser on your computer or mobile device. The cookie can be read by the company that placed it there so that the browser in use on the device can be recognized. Cookies may provide “aggregate data”, which is data that counts how many visitors engage in certain actions. They can be read as unique but not identify you as an individual or, particularly in case of registration cookies, cookies can be associated with data that does identify you.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are those which are essential for GHI’s Website to work in the way you have requested. Although generally, GHI’’s Website is open, i.e. does not require registration, GHI may use strictly necessary cookies to control access to some of its community sites, whitepapers, or online events such as webinars and to maintain your session during a single visit. These cookies will need to reset on your browser each time you register or log in to a gated area. If you block these cookies entirely, you may not be able to access gated areas. GHI may also offer you the choice of a persistent cookie to recognize you as you return to one of our gated sites. If you choose not to use this “remember me” function, you will simply need to log in each time you return.

Performance Cookies

Performance cookies, often called analytics cookies, collect data from visitors to the Website on a unique but anonymous basis. The results are reported to GHI as aggregate numbers and trends. GHI allows third parties to set performance cookies. GHI relies on the reports to understand its audiences generally and to improve how the Website works.

Functionality Cookies

GHI may use site performance cookies to remember your preferences for operational settings on the Website so that you do not have to reset the preferences every time you visit. For example, the cookie may recognize optimum video streaming speeds or volume settings or the order in which you look at comments to a posting on one of GHI’s forums. These cookies do not identify you as an individual and GHI does not associate the resulting information with a cookie that does.

Social Media Cookies

If you use social media or other third party credentials to log in to the Website, then that other organization may set a cookie that allows that company to recognize you. The social media organization may use that cookie for its own purposes. The organization may also show you ads and content from GHI when you visit its websites.

Also, if you use a social media-sharing button or widget on the Website, the social network that created the button will record your action for its own purposes.

Please look to each social media organization’s privacy and data protection policy to understand its uses of its cookies and tracking from the Website and how to control such cookies and buttons.

Targeting/Advertising Cookies

GHI uses tracking and targeting cookies or asks other companies to do so on its behalf to send you emails and to show you online advertising that meets your business and professional interests. If you have registered for the Website, GHI may tailor its emails to you to reflect the interests you have shown during your visits.

GHI asks third party advertising platforms and technology companies to show you its ads after you leave the Website (retargeting technology). This technology allows GHI to make the Website services more interesting for you. Retargeting cookies are used to record anonymized movement patterns on a website. These patterns are used to tailor banner advertisements to your interests. The data used for retargeting is completely anonymous and is only used for statistical analysis. No personal data is stored and the use of retargeting technology is subject to the applicable statutory data protection regulations.

GHI also works with companies to reach people who have not visited the Website. These companies do not identify you as an individual, but instead rely on a variety of other data to show you advertisements (for example, behavior across websites, information about individual devices and, in some cases, IP addresses).

How to Turn Off Cookies

All modern browsers allow you to turn off cookies or stop accepting cookies. You can usually find the settings to do so in the “options” or “preferences” menu of the browser on your device or you can use the “Help” option for more details.

Please remember that turning off some cookies may cause the Website to not work as intended.

If you are primarily concerned with third party advertising platforms, including those that track your browser across unrelated websites, please visit the Network Advertising Initiative, at https://www.networkadvertising.org/. For more information and options for turning off targeting, please visit http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. The Digital Advertising Alliance also offers an opt out page at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/.
