Rapid tests for dengue, chikungunya to be covered under Brazil’s health plans

The National Health Agency (ANS) of Brazil has emphasized that the coverage of the rapid tests for dengue and chikungunya is mandatory. These rapid tests help diagnose via blood count, platelet count, serum albumin level and transaminases. As of now, patients are being charged unauthentically in Brazil, but to avoid this, patients need to enhance their cognizance level and be vigilant. ANS is also in conversation with the Ministry of Health for preventing and combating Zika virus and will take all necessary steps to combat the epidemic – including the revision of the list of procedures for possible new inclusions.
