LATIN AMERICAN HOSPITAL RANKINGS 2020
The Best-Equipped Hospitals in Latin America in 2020
HospiRank was developed by Global Health Intelligence (GHI) using HospiScope, GHI’s Latin America Hospital Database, which tracks crucial information about hospital infrastructure and equipment. One significant challenge facing hospitals and institutions in Latin America is that there is very little current, trustworthy information available about hospitals. This is what led us to create the database and the ranking that ensues.
Our Purpose
With HospiRank, we believe that healthcare professionals, policymakers and the general public will have comprehensive and objective data concerning the region’s hospitals, giving them a sense of the available resources in the region and in each country.
Rankings Organization
Within HospiRank, experts will see the amount of hospital equipment installed in multiple countries. The equipment rankings are set up for each country across seven different categories. As such, there is a ranking for the best-equipped hospitals in terms of hosting patients, cardiovascular health and other categories, by country. Enabling HospiRank to span multiple areas of expertise gives specialized hospitals the ability to stand out in its center of excellence.
Differences across Countries
HospiRank is done on a country-by-country basis so as to account for the differences (such as population, needs, resources, etc.) that exist between Latin American markets. For example, the largest hospitals in Brazil tend to be much larger than the largest hospitals in Peru, yet institutions in both countries could be considered to be well-equipped as per the specific needs of their respective markets.
