Health Ministry of Argentina focusing on integration of healthcare services to improve quality

 

The head of the national health ministry of Argentina recently announced that the ministry had decided to set up a National Agency for Health Technology Assessment for medicines, equipment and medical procedures. The ministry’s objective behind creation of the national agency also includes provision of universal coverage, extension and support to primary healthcare services and integration of the prevailing different health programs. Universal coverage will include prepayments or other insurance and coverage from social or public systems. The National Agency will also take care of primary healthcare. All the medial institutes and organizations across the nation will be assessed for quality of services provided. Accordingly, there will be a provision of certification, re-certification, accreditation and re-accreditation to ensure the quality.
