The ranking of the best-equipped hospitals in Brazil was developed by Global Health Intelligence (GHI) using HospiScope—GHI’s Latin America hospital database—which tracks crucial information about hospital infrastructure and equipment. One significant challenge facing hospitals and institutions in Latin America is that there is very little current, trustworthy information available about hospitals. This is what led us to create HospiScope and later HospiRank.
Our 2025 rankings utilize intuitive visual indicators to represent medical equipment density across the region. Each institution is listed by type and alphabetically for quick reference, with availability displayed as a dynamic bar graph where a full sequence of bars indicates high availability and fewer bars represent a more limited resource base. To provide a precise benchmark for hospital administrators and MedTech professionals, these equipment counts are carefully calibrated based on the specific country, type of institution, and equipment category.
