Philips’ health cloud technology to link millions of healthcare devices and sensors with social media and EHRs for disease prevention
According to a Philips spokesperson, the Philips HealthSuite Device Cloud is enabling seven million healthcare devices and sensors to link with the social media and electronic health records for prevention of diseases and improvement of social healthcare. It collects the information, analyzes and creates algorithms to improve the efficacy of the medical advice. Philips is working with Rackspace and Alibaba’s cloud computing unit for its healthcare cloud services, data collection being the most important among them. Data provides the information about the devices such as behavior of the device or sensor. Many countries need to deal with the development of legislation in this direction such as how the data collected should be handled, stored and processed.
