GE Healthcare sets up R&D lab in Turkey, as the country becomes one of the world’s fastest growing economies
GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business unit has established a new R&D center in Turkey in a bid to catalyze Turkish bioprocessing development and manufacturing via its latest Fast Trak Bioprocessing Technology and Training laboratory in Istanbul. The new R&D lab is equipped with GE’s latest medical research technologies, such as the Xcellerex, Wave bioreactors, AKTA chromatography systems, Cytell cell imaging systems, and Amersham western blot systems. GE has chosen Turkey owing to its increasing stature in the world economy and it has the sixth largest pharmaceutical industry in Europe. The country is also placing itself as a significant player of the global biopharmaceutical market. The Turkish government is also supporting research and development in the country.
