According to a press release, Vladimir Cerron, the prospective presidential candidate of Peru has said that he would increase the fund allotted to public health to 10% of total Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which would be around double the amount currently allocated to the sector. He said with the increased budget, a universal, single, quality and free health system would be established based on the successful experience in Cuba. He said four hospitals would be built in each region (province), including a mother-childcare hospital, an oncological hospital, and a teaching clinical-surgical hospital complemented with proper equipment and interconnection.
