Mexican Ministry of Health to allocate MXN 344 million to states for health surveillance

 

San Luis Potosi has become the 10th state to join the plan of the Secretariat of the Civil Service to improve transparency in health surveillance. COFEPRIS, the healthcare regulation agency of the nation, will allot MXN 344 million to states in order to prevent health risks. The Ministry of Health has stated that operating health surveillance will increase by 30% in 2016 in the country. The agreement of Partnership for preventive health surveillance and information exchange between the state government and COFEPRIS has been signed by the authorities concerned. This will allow the state and federal health authorities strengthen legality and transparency in their processes of health surveillance, taking care of the first contact with citizens. By signing this agreement, San Luis Potosi became the 10th state after Baja California, Baja California Sur, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Puebla, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, and Zacatecas, which have joined this scheme.
