Medtronic Plc has acquired US-based Advanced Uro-Solutions, which develops neurostimulation products for the treatment of bladder control issues. The acquisition helps expand Medtronic’s portfolio of treatment options for bladder control and bowel control therapies. Medtronic is also planning to launch the NURO system developed by Advanced Uro-Solutions, and approved by the US FDA for patients with overactive bladder and their associated symptoms in the US within a year. Medtronic shall include the revenues from the Advanced Uro-Solutions product line into its Neuromodulation division within the Restorative Therapies Group segment. The transaction is expected to complement Medtronic’s long-term financial goals.
