Its primary objective is to \u201cguarantee universal, free and\npriority coverage of health services for all oncology patients, regardless of\nthe type of cancer they suffer from.&#8221; However, the law also authorizes the\nMinistry of Health to carry out the technological renovation of biomedical\nequipment, as well as the expansion and improvement of the oncology hospital\ninfrastructure at a national level, according to the budgetary availability of\nits sector.\u201d In line with this great advance for Peruvians, purchases of linear\naccelerators and high-precision radiotherapy equipment by public and private\nhospitals have been recorded in the last year. Thanks to this new standard, and\nthe intangibility of the cancer budget, which prevents resources from being\ndiverted to other services, an excellent opportunity has opened up for the\nmedical device industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GHI recently conducted an analysis of procurement\ntrends in <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/los-hospitales-mejor-equipados-de-latinoamerica-en-2020\/los-hospitales-mejor-equipados-en-peru-2020\/\">Peruvian hospitals<\/a>,\ncalculating the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2019 and 2023.
