{"id":14396,"date":"2021-03-08T10:21:06","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T10:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/?p=14396"},"modified":"2026-02-16T12:18:45","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T18:18:45","slug":"despite-covid-diagnostic-imaging-grew-in-mexico-during-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/pt-br\/ghi-analysis\/despite-covid-diagnostic-imaging-grew-in-mexico-during-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Despite COVID, Diagnostic Imaging Grew in Mexico During 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In order to understand some of the effects of COVID on the region\u2019s installed base, GHI began analyzing year-end data for <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"capital equipment (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/pt-br\/ghi-analysis\/10-growth-areas-in-latams-capital-equipment-market-2020-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\">capital equipment<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Given the need for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/pt-br\/ghi-analysis\/latam-hospitals-show-decreases-in-ventilator-counts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"ventilators (opens in a new tab)\">ventilators<\/a><\/strong> (particularly early on in the crisis) and the cancellation or rescheduling of hundreds of thousands of surgeries, it would seem that diagnostic imaging equipment would have experienced significant declines in Mexico in 2020. But that did not occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/strategic-solutions-hospital-database\/hospiscope\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"HospiScope (opens in a new tab)\">HospiScope<\/a><\/strong>, GHI\u2019s annual hospital monitoring of equipment and capacity, our team contacts over 10,000 hospitals across Latin America every year to obtain data on nearly 60 types of medical equipment.
