This is because few products are manufactured locally and therefore
imported medical devices and equipment are sold to medical institutions. As
such, import data for medical devices and equipment are strongly correlated to
actual sales and thus are a solid indicator of market activity.

Defining “Equipment” and “Devices”
It’s important to note that the import data analyzed by ShareScope are not just
the medical equipment and devices themselves, but also their parts and
components.

2018-2019 Decreases in the Colombian
Medical Devices/Equipment Market

The chart below breaks down the CAGR for
2014-2019 for these categories, as well as a year-to-year comparison for
2018-2019. These
results are in line with government policies to control pricing. The pockets of
growth in CT scanners, ultrasound machines are encouraging, and we see the
greatest disparity between quantities and value with MRI machines, which is
driven by the increased sales of parts and components.

Uncovering Opportunities

With a large market like Colombia posting
these mixed results, it becomes ever more important for medical device and
equipment manufacturers to be analytical in finding new opportunities.

While existing contacts and prospecting are important, sales teams need to leverage more tools, such as:

Overall market sizing and its
trends

Independent and unbiased market
share tracking

Streamlining CRM systems to
integrate data from multiple sources into one platform the whole team can use

Discovering new accounts that
are ideal for high-end, cutting-edge medical devices

Determining market demand
outside of your regular client base

This analytical approach is helpful for all
markets, but much more in markets like Colombia, in which data can make the
difference between exceeding your sales goals and falling considerably short.

Contact us to find out more about how we can help you expand your sales in Colombia.

[32
4027,4029,4031,4033,4035,4037,4040,4042,4044,4046,4048,4050,4052,4054,4056,4057,4060,941,4062
0":"post-11795","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-ghi-analysis","7":"tag-2018-2019-decreases-in-the-colombian-medical-devices-equipment-market","8":"tag-2019-medical-device-market-analysis-for-colombia","9":"tag-colombia-2019-imports-of-medical-devices-and-equipment","10":"tag-imports-of-artificial-joints-into-colombia-2019","11":"tag-imports-of-ct-scanners-into-colombia-2019","12":"tag-imports-of-electrocardiographs-into-colombia-2019","13":"tag-imports-of-heart-valves-into-colombia-2019","14":"tag-imports-of-magnetic-resonance-imaging-equipment-into-colombia-2019","15":"tag-imports-of-mri-machines-into-colombia-2019","16":"tag-imports-of-pacemakers-into-colombia-2019","17":"tag-imports-of-radio-therapy-equipment-into-colombia-2019","18":"tag-imports-of-radiography-equipment-into-colombia-2019","19":"tag-imports-of-ultrasound-machines-into-colombia-2019","20":"tag-imports-of-x-ray-machines-into-colombia-2019","21":"tag-research-for-the-colombian-medical-devices-equipment-market","22":"tag-sales-data-medical-devices-colombia","23":"tag-sales-data-medical-equipment-colombia","24":"tag-sharescope","25":"tag-state-of-the-medical-device-market-in-colombia
["GET
