To give you a greater sense of just how rapidly these changes are impacting the market, we compiled some of the most surprising statistics to come out of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/the-5-biggest-healthcare-growth-markets-in-latin-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Latin America<\/a> in recent years.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">1\/3<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In recent years about one-third of the <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/latin-american-health-in-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LatAm population<\/a> changed its eating habits due to concerns about health, according to Kantar Worldpanel.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">48th<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The ranking of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/state-of-the-2017-medical-device-market-in-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mexico\u2019s<\/a> health care professionals compared to 188 countries around the world, according to the British medical journal <em>The Lancet<\/em>. This is a big feather in Mexico\u2019s cap, as it puts their health care system in elite company.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">17 million<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The number of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/2018-brazilian-health-market-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazilians<\/a> with diabetes, an alarming statistic that represents 8.9 %of the overall Brazilian population.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">5<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The five leading causes of death in <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/argentina-health-market-fact-sheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Argentina<\/a> are ischemic cardiopathies, low respiratory diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, COPD and Alzheimer\u2019s.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">4 out of 10<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Colombians over the age of 50 suffer from a chronic disease. This includes medical issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease.<\/p>\n[thrive_leads id=&#8217;7632&#8242;]\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">50%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Of Chilean children between ages 5 and 7 have some degree of obesity, an unfortunate state of affairs for the country.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">40<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The number of years that it required for the obesity rate in <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/overview-of-the-costa-rican-healthcare-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Costa Rica<\/a> to quadruple.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">22%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/the-medical-device-equipment-market-in-latin-america-a-data-portrait\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Latin Americans<\/a> suffer from <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/news\/brazil-highest-number-people-suffering-depression-latin-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">depression<\/a>, according to WHO.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">#49<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The ranking, among all countries, of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/state-of-the-2017-medical-device-market-in-chile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chile<\/a> in regard to its citizens\u2019 access to medical care. This puts it in the top 25% in the entire world.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">98%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The percentage of Chileans who at least try to eat healthy, according to the same survey.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">70,000<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Uruguayans have undiagnosed fibromyalgia, a commonly underdiagnosed condition that causes muscle aches, fatigue, pain and sensitivity.<\/p>\n[thrive_leads id=&#8217;7635&#8242;]\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">45%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/2018-brazilian-health-market-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brazilian<\/a> adults have at least one chronic disease. This include major players such as diabetes, arthritis, asthma, high blood pressure and depression.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">75<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The average life expectancy for <a href=\"https:\/\/globalhealthintelligence.com\/es\/ghi-analysis\/state-of-the-2017-medical-device-market-in-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexicans<\/a> who were born in the year 2015. This is 14 years older than the life expectancy of those born in 1970.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">56%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Of Colombian adults struggle with being overweight or obese. This statistic may explain the issues with chronic diseases in the country.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">3 out of 4<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Mexicans in low-income areas suffer from some form of chronic disease. This includes diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and more.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">10%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Of Colombians who endured chronic malnutrition in early childhood. This also appears to have a causal relationship with the health problems experienced by many Colombians later in life.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #6aae3f;\">17.6%<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The percentage of Mexicans 12 years or older who smoke.
