Colombia’s Bogota, a favorable investment market for medical device companies

 

According to a spokesperson of Invest in Bogota, a public-private partnership between Bogota’s Chamber of Commerce and the city’s government, the city offers a lot of opportunities such as an easy and favorable environment for business as domestic investors and foreign investors have same rights and obligations, the market size, the investor safety and stability and favorable regulatory skeleton for business. Bogota has been successful in attracting investors from Korea, Japan and the US. It has attracted over USD 12 billion in foreign direct investment in the last decade. Several biotech and medical device companies are establishing base in the city to harness opportunities offered. The rich biodiversity of Colombia after Ecuador and Brazil is a reason why medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and especially processed foods companies are attracted to invest here.
