Cofepris, Mexico encourages international healthcare regulatory harmonization

Cofepris, the healthcare regulatory agency of Mexico is working to encourage the worldwidehealthcare regulatory harmonization to benefit the developmentindustry and ensuring access of the population to better health supplies.The Federal Commissioner of the agency Julio Sanchez participated in the Meeting of theSociety of Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (RAPS) and agreed to promote actions to promote best practices and discussed theCOFEPRIS’ reporting progress in health regulation. According to him, international strategy for the harmonization implemented by COFEPRIS meets with the bestinternational practices and is based updating the framework, remove regulatory barriers to market entry and expansion of accesspopulation to the best healthcare products.He also disclosed that the Federal Commission participates in the main instances of harmonizationinternationally and it has signed bilateral agreements with various regulatory agencies in the world with the aim to establish better communication and collaboration schemes.
