Boston Scientific to infiltrate leadless pacemaker market through leadless pacer program

Boston Scientific is seeking to join competitors Medtronic and St. Jude Medical in the rhythm management market with its leadless pacemaker being developed under the leadless pacer program. Boston Scientific’s new leadless pacemaker will accompany its S-ICD product range. The device will probably be developed by the end of 2016. The target behind the development is to get patients rid of endovascular leads. The new Boston Scientific device would be implanted by transcatheter delivery similar to Medtronic’s Micra and St. Jude’s Nanostim devices implantation in the heart.
